Glucosamine

Glucosamine

Glucosamine is a naturally occurring amino sugar. It is a simple compound consisting of a glucose molecule from which a hydroxyl group has been replaced by an amino group (NH2 group) at the 2 position. It is the main building block for the biosynthesis of macromolecules such as glycosaminoglycans, hyaluran acid, glycolipids and glycoproteins. These substances occur throughout the body but the highest concentration occurs in the cartilage.

The action of glucosamine can be greatly enhanced by applying it in the correct formulation, creating a synergistic effect

Vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of normal bones.
Vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal functioning of cartilage.
