Vitamin E (tocopherolen tocotrienols)

Vitamin E (tocopherolen tocotrienols)

Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin that allows it to penetrate into the body’s cells.
It occurs naturally in many foods, such as vegetable oils, seeds, cereals, animal fats, meat, poultry, eggs, fruits and vegetables.
Vitamin E comes in eight different forms (isomers): alpha, beta, gamma and delta tocopherol; alpha, beta, gamma and delta tocotrienol.
Each isomeer can play a different role in the action of vitamin E.
Each vitamin E compound has unique properties and vitamin E compounds enhance each other’s effects.
In addition to antioxidant effects, vitamin E affects cell signaling and gene expression.
These features may be even more important for health than antioxidant activity.
Natural vitamin E is much more effective; an important part of the synthetic stereo isomer has no biological activity and possibly even burdens the body.

Vitamin E-containing ingredients we use include: Cranberry protein powder, OPC and Resveratrol (grape powder), and all our softgel formulations that contain cranberry oil.

Vitamin E:

  • helps protect cells from oxidative damage
  • helps protect cells from oxidative damage from air pollution and UV radiation
  • helps protect body cells from external influences
  • contributes to the elimination of free radicals in (body) cells
