Vitamin K includes a group of related, fat-soluble nattoquinones and is commonly known as essential for blood clotting.
Menaquinone-7 (MK-7) is a powerful, natural form of vitamin K2 produced by fermentation. Scientific research shows that MK-7 is the most effective form of vitamin K to optimize vitamin K status in the body. MK-7 has a very long half-life in the blood and is not preferred by the liver. Therefore, it is distributed to the outer tissues and is available to activate the protein osteocalcin, which is needed to bind calcium to the bones.
