Black coil (Cimicifuga racemosa)

Black cohog, botanically known as Cimicifuga racemosa (also known as Actaea racemosa and Actea macrotys), is a thriving plant of the Ranunculaceae family. It originates in the eastern part of North America; from the extreme south of Ontario to the center of Georgia and west to Missouri and Arkansas. It grows in a variety of forest species and is common in small openings in the forest.
