Holy Basil has been grown in Indian gardens, courtyards and temples for almost 3,000 years. It is the most famous basil species in history and legends and the most sacred plant in Hinduism. It is the important saint “Tulsi” or “Tulasi”, which is considered a reincarnation of the wife of Vishnu, and a symbol of faithfulness and pure divine love. The plant is dedicated to the Hindu god Krishna and is therefore planted in sacred places.
Holy Basil is a symbol of love and fidelity and is interwoven with many daily rituals.
Holy Basil is an adaptogen, which means it brings balance throughout the body and helps with stress situations. It increases strength and endurance and can ensure that the body uses oxygen more efficiently while promoting good protein synthesis in the body. In the Ayurveda it is a very important herb.
