ALA alpha lipoic acid
Alpha-lipoic acid has a wide range of action and is soluble in both water and fat, making it active in both the water phase and fat phase and can penetrate through the blood-brain barrier and through the fat-containing cell walls.
It is an antioxidant with special properties because it helps other antioxidants to function better such as Vitamin C, vitamin E, carotenoids, glutathione and coenzyme Q10 and need alpha lipoic acid to recycle and return to its original state. Alpha lipoic acid is present in the mitochondria of every body cell and is essential for cellular energy production as a coenzyme.
Furthermore, (ALA) has the ability to bind heavy metals to itself.
